Complying with restaurant health codes

Posted on January 12th, 2012 No Comments

It is very important for restaurants to comply with local and federal health and safety codes, because they can be shut down for the simplest of violations.  Some health regulation violations that could put a restaurant in danger include having insects or animals within a certain distance of food preparation or service areas, unclean surfaces, equipment, and utensils, contaminated or unclean water, and mold.

These regulations were put in place, and are enforced, to ensure the health of a restaurant’s staff and customers.  Restaurants are fast-paced environments, and their staff already have a lot on their hands with the food preparation and service processes.

In order for a restaurant to provide quality service, while still complying with health codes, many find it helpful to hire a separate cleaning staff  that can maintain a healthy environment for staff and customers.  In doing this, a restaurant’s staff and owners are able to focus on other aspects of the business.
